Commonly used in prayer and meditative practices as a way to remain focused, or bring you back to focus when you wander off. Wearing your mala or hanging it where you can see it will also help remind you of your intentions or goal. Malas replace negative thought patterns by way of mantras repeated with each bead and the guru bead channels all the energy of your practice to manifest your intentions.
I wear my mala almost daily, it is a physical reminder of what I am calling into my life and whenever I feel lost or stressed I will run my fingers over it and repeat my mantra.
